I was going to save money and purchase twine without a dispenser, thinking I wouldn’t use it often, but I read Natasha Stryker’s excellent review and realized there are so many uses for a basic cotton twine: Anchor tall perennials to bamboo stakes in my garden (instead of the non-biodegradable, plastic twist ties); hold in place the burlap I use to wrap my shrubs in late fall; thread some twine through a comb handle and my pumice foot buffer, which I can now hang off the hooks of my shower caddy; use twine as rustic “ribbon” to finish a gift wrapped in plain brown paper; tie tender branches together to prevent damage from heavy snowfall; make an impromptu clothesline in the bathroom … the possibilities really are endless. Oh, yes, you can truss a chicken or stabilize a pot roast, too!

i give this a 3 because its much smaller then i imagined and its very thin. if i would of saw it i wouldn’t have bought.

“Dispenses” but has no cutter – Amanda – NH
I received this thing as a gift. It is a “butcher string” dispenser with no cutter. You need scissors or a sharp knife to use it. The whole point of a string dispenser includes a convenient cutter (no need for scissors/knives). My antique string dispenser that cuts the string works far better than this new string holder. Save your money, don’t buy it.

This twine holder is sturdy and sits out on the counter for easy use. The twine that comes with it is just fine. I’m assuming that a full ball will fit into it when I have to replace it. If not, I’ll revise my review.br /br /Keeps the twine out of kittehs’ paws, too.
